When I went to the bar at the Lodge with Chris and Tony on Saturday night, there was this sort of faux-Renoir portrait of a girl on the wall that kind of captivated me because she was staring right out at the viewer. I don’t normally think about that, but I’m really fascinated by eyes, both in real life and in art. So I decided to draw a girl looking at the viewer. I just started drawing with no visual reference, and it came out as a generic asian girl. There are a few obvious anatomic flaws (the eyes, most notably and ironically), but overall it’s not too bad for right off the top of my head. I think I’ll be exploring and practicing more eyes in the near future…
