That is the smell of Ambivalence

So, I feel that all of these changes to wd.n are probably a good thing, but they don't address the real issue, which is WHEN do we all get t-shirts? But I did try out the messageboard, and my initial reaction is that it is pretty spiffy, and I was impressed, until I realized that the board was obviously (GASP!) outsourced!
I still have respect for Scott, just not much. I mean, can't you go and just hammer out some code for a message board? How hard can it be? Logically, anything I personally don't understand must be easy to do, so he should have been able to wrap that up in about 7 or 8 minutes. . .
But the real problem I have with the message board is my own ignorance. It took me a day or two to get back to it, I was so thrown, but then I did manage to register as a member. But now how do I post? I am sure I will figure it out in due time. I just hope I do before I lose interest. But Scott is right about the messaging versus articling. And Of course, I am the guilty party. No one said anything, but you were all looking at me. But I have the power to go back and edit my articles, so I can either delete the ones that are more appropriate for messaging, or combine them into one and make an article, or leave them alone, and they will come home, wagging their tales behind them. But articles are articles, and messages are messages, and never the twain shall meet. So my suggestion is, articles are for general consumption, should be lengthy and meandering, and address new topics of life, the universe, or something. Message board should be used for more personal communication, responding to an article if necessary, or conversing about a previously established topic, like the comic book character thing, or some other equally important carp. I mean crap. So article posters should take it upon themselves to review their articles, and edit or remove them as they see fit. This will leave a clean article archive, and each article should be a stand alone entity, suitable for framing.

Is this what you mean, Scott? Is the the purpose of this new and improved stuff? Okay, but back to me: I am still going to need someone to hold my hand until I figure out out to use the messageboard. And I will need some time to edit my articles. But there is a lot of neeto stuff on the messageboard, and I highly recommend that everyone come on out and play!!
