Right On

So now I'm going to reply to oldestgenxer, obviously aware of the fact that I am ironically breaking the very rule I created the messageboard to address.

But here's the thing: you're exactly right about what you said. Everything. It's not really outsourced, per se, but it was a prepackaged deal. And I could have pounded out that code in 6 or 7 minutes, but I felt like I should give the guys at invisionboard some props.

to post messages in the board, simply click on one of the forums, like miscellaneous, recommendations, etc. Then there should be a button to post new topic. alternatively, you could click on someone else's topic, and then there will be a post reply button to add to that topic. right now you can't post in the 'what the hell is going on?' category, because it's mainly for site news.

There's also a thing up in the upper right hand corner of the page called 'my settings' or something, that will allow you to edit your signature, avatar (the little picture that gets printed to the side of your posts), and personal info. so check that out. mainly, just play with it and let me know if there are any other specific questions you have. If no one likes the forum, I can scrap this idea, but I think you'll get it once I do the redisign. The articles system won't be as prominent, and the message board will be more of the place you go to chat with other people about stuff. There will be much more emphasis on comics, and the users will be able to participate in some other stuff besides just posting articles.

Please just bear with me until this is done, and we'll see how it turns out.
